Jenelle Alicia De Leon, J Angel, always had a desire to follow her passion to become a recording artiste. She started off in entertainment at the age of 17 as a voice talent in commercials, then at the age of 20, she became part of an underground sound system.
Later, she began working at Radio station 104.7fm as a personality then moved to Red96.7fm.
Presently, she is one of Trinidad’s young female DJs with a daily radio show on the urban radio station, Slam100.5fm.
She continues to host many major concerts and events in Trinidad one being the Marley Brothers show that was held in 2012.
J Angel is a talented recording artist and songwriter and in 2012 she co- wrote on the Olympic song “We Are Conquerors” for soca artist Kes Diffentaller.
2013 she made the semi finals singing at the International Soca Monarch with her first soca song “Jook It”.
2014 and 2015 she made semi finals in the ISM again.
2013 she recorded a song on Dancehall’s Johnny Wonder’s riddim 21st Hapilos called “Wine Up” on The Block Party riddim along with a music video that followed.
Being very versatile with her vocals, for summer 2015 she released a hip hop RnB track and official music video titled “ME” which can be found on YouTube with over 15,000 views.
This year, J Angel is working with a team out in Los Angeles and new management, spear headed by Kenneth Monroe, an entertainment Entrepreneur who is also her personal manager.
Venturing into the world of doing international crossover world music, J Angel’s first release for 2017 is “Bring Back The Summer” which has seen over 22,000 views on YouTube in just 2 weeks and still growing. This is just the beginning of the many releases including international collaborations to come
